What I’m working on

I’m currently building Edily, an app made to change the way we think about entertaining educational content, especially for Gen Z high schoolers.

I’d also love to develop a concept called Yes And Improv one day

Edily

It is no secret that we are all glued to our phones, but the average teen spends 7 hours and 22 minutes per day on screentime not related to homework. The largest portion of that time by far is dedicated to watching online videos/TV. However as media consumption habits have changed and become more social, the way we consume education online has not. Edily is a mobile app that hosts entertaining, short-form educational content developed by educational influencers to be engaging, interactive, and remixable, combining elements of Instagram and TikTok into the educational experience.

Yes And Improv

Improv is a fun activity and hobby both for people who have done it for years and those who are just starting out. It allows individuals to let themselves loose while simultaneously developing skills like creativity, teamwork, and resilience. However even before the recent pandemic, trying improv had relatively high barriers to trial; either you have a group willing to do it with you or you pay for potentially prohibitively expensive classes. Yes And Improv is an app enabling people to learn and improve improv skills virtually while providing a platform for improvisers to share their craft.

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

About

I grew up in Foster City, California with my mom Laura, dad Jack and sister Shannon. I have always loved singing, and participated in musical theater, choruses, and an a cappella group along the way. I holds my own at guitar if you give me some easy chords to play. I also grew up playing baseball (1B/OF), soccer (Goalkeeper), and swimming. I still occasionally play in rec leagues around the Bay Area. In business school, I joined too many clubs at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management including: Creatives at Anderson (Co-President), Entrepreneur Association (VP D48s), Beer Club (Exec VP), A Comedy Club (VP of Improv), Anderson Tech Business Association, Marketing Association, Soccer Club, Wine Club, and Outdoor Adventure Club and loved all of them equally 😉

I grew up fascinated by psychology, sciences, and arts, and studied Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. There I grew my appreciation for biological sciences, but became more and more interested with the business side of operating a life sciences firm. I joined ZS Associates, a consulting firm with a focus in the life sciences industry. There I was privileged to be able to focus on building customer engagement strategy for oncology medicine manufacturers, learn core concepts in data-driven strategic decision making, and build operational skills. A call to entrepreneurship led me to UCLA Anderson’s School of Management to pursue my MBA.

The next step is to create products. My goal is to build products by developing Edily in the education space, creating experiences for customers that will change the way that education is shared in the world and improving access, comprehension, and the skills that make learning a valuable pursuit in our lives.

Values

Empathy – Empathy is the fundamental building block for positive experiences and relationships. I believe the root of the largest problems, unjust causes, and unsolveable debates is a lack of empathy, active listening, and compromise. Too many people are unwilling to try to understand why another person would take an action we might not. Even when we may feel affronted, we can try to understand the affront to make it seem a little less black and white. And while empathy at all times may be difficult, I believe kindness seeking empathy is always achievable.

Mentorship – The never-ending cycle of discovering, receiving, and giving knowledge has been inspirational for me. Just by learning and passing on that knowledge, anyone can become a mentor, and I hope to place the relationship aspect of mentorship at the center of every professional bond I create.

Culture Building– Culture was a central part of why I loved my first job, and I learned that helping to build culture through shared experience is one of the most important parts of extraordinary organizations. From setting up happy hours to defining core values, I believe talking about and sharing experiences is profoundly important for a fulfilling work environment
